Mel built out a branded visual asset library for Geltor to use as their business grows. It was important for this library to be as flexible as possible for various marketing needs, but also to serve as a smart, stylish representation of their future forward product. A series of still life images highlighting the delicacy and versatility of their synthetic collagen materials. Accompanying in-lab portraits of the founders help to build a compelling representation of this human-focused tech company.
After a successful series of reportage and brand shoots, Geltor asked Mel to join them again to art direct a series of still photography highlighting the company’s continued product innovation. With new formulations and use cases, the brand wanted to elevate and their existing image library with a cleaner visual approach.
As part of developing Geltor’s asset library Mel spent an afternoon following their founders, Alex Lorestani, Ph.D. and Nick Ouzounov, Ph.D. around their Emeryville, CA laboratory. The duo showed the production crew around the space and generously shared lab coats with us as we documented the scientists in their natural habitat.
