At Gap, Mel created a packaging system utilizing modular design elevates and grounds Gap’s identity across the brand’s global inventory. This system needed to be flexible enough to function on all garments, but also elevate and strengthen the brand’s identity. The transition to modular system from a collection of individual pieces allowed for quick in-factory changes, as well as easy adaptation for different regions.
At Gap, Mel developed the identity for Sculpt, a performance-focused family of materials which allows for better stretch and recovery within garments. Both the logo and entire graphic system needed to be flexible enough to live on garment, in-store, on screen, and also adapt with time. Partnering with Gap’s store team and external agencies, Mel ensured the identity remained intact for every implementation.
Mel created flexible logo and visual system in support of Gap’s global sustainability initiative. Identity lives on garment in packaging, digital channels including online and social media as well as large scale physically in-store.
Mel created the visual identity and packaging suite for GapKid's collaboration with Ellen Degeneres' lifestyle brand, ED. The collaboration celebrated individually, curiosity, and unbridled playfulness while empowering young girls to express themselves.

At Gap, Mel created a flexible system for the 10th Anniversary of the company’s collaboration with GQ Magazine. The black, white and red color bars alternate per designer complement the photo suite’s celebratory mood. The palette and system utilized across creative in-store, on garment, and media.
